Top up your toolkit with our new ultra-gloss and low-shine matte varnishes, specially developed to bring out the best in your air-dry clay.
- Water-resistant, scratch-proof and seriously satisfying.
- Choose from high-gloss for a glazed ceramic shine or matte for a more natural, modern finish. Both protect your pottery while enhancing the final look.
- Wait for your piece to dry completely for a minimum of 2 - 3 days. It’s important your creation is bone dry before painting (very light in color and hard to the touch).
- Apply 2 generous coats of our white acrylic eggshell base layer on the inside, outside and base of your creation. Allow this to dry for a couple of hours.
- Apply Sculpd colored paints if you have them
- Apply 2 generous coats of our ultra glossy or matte varnish on the inside, outside and base of your creation, leaving 10 minutes between coats. Allow this to set completely overnight to ensure a water resistant finish.

So incredibly impressed with this varnish! It dries so much quicker than advertised which makes it even more amazing. Dried in less than 30 mins in my 20 degree flat and the coats were so easy to do. When it came to cleaning the pot I put it in to dip my brush into, it was so hard to get off because the varnish is so good and very water resistant!! It showed how great the product is! On top of that, no streaky lines! This will definitely be my go to varnish from now on. A little goes a long way. Managed to do 2 coats, front and back of 42 of the clay circles pictured with one pot.

Ordering is easy and always arrives quickly.
The clay is good to work with and I have really enjoyed making things. I find it very calming too spend time making little things.
I have found the clay stays moist if you don't use the whole pack in one go. I rewrap and seal the bag. Weeks can go by before I use again and it's always been fine.
