About Sculpd
Sculpd makes creative kits for adults who want to make something with their hands at home: pottery, candle making and paint by numbers. No kiln, no studio, no experience needed.

What you’ll do

• Make example pieces. Hand-build and paint the showpieces for our pottery, candle and paint by numbers kits.
• Record tutorials. Film step-by-step how-to videos across our product range, talking to camera as you go.
• Test new products. Get hands on with new kits before launch and give honest feedback on what works and what doesn’t.
• Make pieces for shoots. Create the finished pieces that star in our photo and video shoots.
• Bring ideas. Suggest new designs and techniques our beginner customers could pull off.
• Optionally - host local and online classes

What we’re looking for 

Must have

• Handbuilding pottery experience, making pieces to a good, finished standard (pinch, coil, slab)
• Painting skills on ceramics and canvas
• Comfortable speaking on camera and explaining things clearly to beginners
• A suitable workspace at home to make, paint and film
• Based in LA, ideally the West Side
• Available to start ASAP

Nice to have

• Experience with air dry clay
• Candle making experience
• Basic phone filming skills (framing, lighting, steady shots)
• An Instagram or portfolio showing your work

Practical details

• Workspace: a clean, well-lit table at home where you can make, paint and film without interruption. Natural light is a bonus.
• Filming: shot on your phone. If you need a tripod or lighting, we can supply it.
• Kits: we supply our kits for every project.
• On-set days: occasional in-person days for photo and video shoots in LA.
• Pay: per project, agreed upfront for each brief.
• Workload: varies with our launch calendar. Busier around new launches, quieter in between.
